Techies Marine has been awarded with design and construction of three 6.6m fi-fi boats.

Hull form is deep-V monohull with reverse chines powered by 85hp Yamaha outboard motor generating speed of up to 27 knots in trial conditions.

The vessel is constructed of marine grade aluminum plates. The vessel consists of three bulkheads and double bottom as well as double side.

It is equipped with 1 fi-fi pump attached to 2 fire monitors each located forward and aft. Seating capacity is 5 pax including pilot. Superstructure is made up of roof and side plates thus providing all round protection from elements for the crew.

Shell plates, frames, stringers, etc. with complex shapes are all cut with CNC for minimizing overall error in the hull.

Vessel is constructed using traditional boat building techniques.

First stage: keel is erected and carefully aligned in all 3 dimensions: horizontally, transversely and vertically. Other members will be attached to keel so this is among the most important steps.

(8mm thick keel plate is used.)

Second stage: bulkheads, frames and stringers are erected and aligned.

(600mm frame spacing & heavily stiffened bulkhead visible.)

Third stage: longitudinal members are attached to frames. The skeleton is completed. Shell plating attached.

(intermittent welding longitudinals to bottom shell)
(T sections fabricated for double bottom & double side, to be plug welded)
(completed hull)
(superstructure finished, all weld seams to be completed.)
(The whole structure is grinded to shiny finish surface and then painted. First layer of paint finished.)
(Final layer of paint coated.)
(outfitting items such as windows, steering, fire pump, etc to be installed.)
(On the way to trial.)
(Ready for trial.)
